So I’m making this masterpost because it seems a lot of people are still in the dark about this beautiful angel and it just doesn’t seem right to just leave them there. So, here is a masterpost dedicated to Lianne La Havas.
The basics:
Lianne was born August 23, 1989
Her full name is Lianne Charlotte Barnes
Her stage name comes from her father’s surname ‘Vlahavas’
Her musical style is folk and soul
Her father is Greek and her mother is Jamaican
Her mother played with Jill Scott and Mary J. Blige
Lianne credits her mother as her “taste-maker” for her musical preferences while her father taught her the technicalities with many instruments i.e. guitar, harmonica, and piano
Lianne studied Art in school but left to pursue music full-time
Lianne has a really cute sense of style and idk if it’s considered her signature eye-style but whenever I see dots I think Lianne:

Her eyeliner game is always on point tho
This is Lianne’s official website. She also has an instagram, twitter, and tumblr.
Lianne has 3 EP’s Lost & Found (2011), Live in L.A. (2011), and Forget (2012) and her debut album Is Your Love Big Enough? was released in July of 2012. It won iTunes Album of the Year and was nominated for a Mercury Prize. You can listen to the entire album on youtube.
Lianne toured with Bombay Bicycle Club in 2012. She has videos of the tour [1] [2] [3] and photos here as well.
She’s hella tight with Prince. Prince heard about Lianne and invited her to Paisley Park, his recording studio outside of Minneapolis, where they listened to music and ate crudites and drank tea. He even had a press conference for his UK ‘Hit and Run’ tour from her flat. She knows how he takes his tea. She talks about it here.
She’s also good friends with singer Paloma Faith.
Here’s a video of her being cute and signing cd’s
Like she’s verrrrrryyyyyyyy cute idk if I stressed this enough

so cute

Here are some of my favorite interviews she’s had that introduce you to Lianne. She’s very dreamy when she speaks. [1] [2] [3]
Music videos: No Room for Doubt (ft. Willy Mason), Forget, Is Your Love Big Enough?, Elusive, and Gone
And here are some of her live performances (full concert/full sets) [1] [2] [3]
Lianne also pretty fucking great at covers: Here she is covering Beyonce’s “Work It Out”, covering Rihanna’s “Only Girl In The World”, with Joss Stone covering Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy”, covering Jill Scott’s “He Loves Me”, and here she is covering Little Dragon’s “Twice”
The gifs I used are from lianne-lahavas which is a super awesome Lianne blog that updates regularly so if you’re ever feeling in a Lianne rut you should definitely follow and scroll to your heart’s content.
Anyways, I hope this post was sorta helpful in kickstarting your love for Lianne. She’s supposed to release new music soon and maybe if she sees how many people are interested in her it’ll make her release new material even faster!
